My 95 year old Mother was in for rehab and the head nurse, Victoria was amazing. Always attentive to my mother’s needs and to any questions her family had. My mother left letting Victoria know she will really miss her. So grateful to Victoria and Angelica and the aids as well as Uriel (rehab) for their care, diligence and attention to my mother. After my mom’s hospital stay, I chose to send her to Citadel at Casa Scalabrini for rehab, where she stayed for a month. From the start, the admissions team was very helpful, answering all my questions during the tour. Unlike many other facilities, this one didn’t feel depressing when you walked in—it was clean, welcoming, and had a warm atmosphere. My Dad has been here twice for skilled nursing/rehab. If you can get into Unit A with Victoria as your nurse - it's the best place for great care. Victoria was so caring, and alert to any changes in my Dad's health. She brought in the right doctors as needed and got him up and back to his independent living apartment in two weeks after a UTI. This place is OK, but the food is really terrible. I think most public schools have better food than this place. Additionally, don’t leave anything behind. I left my beautiful big black golf umbrella there and magically, it disappeared. My mom who was in rehab at Citadel was telling me that staff persons were asking about it. My mom was incapacitated and could not really stop anybody from taking it. I am pretty disappointed.
The nursing staff, especially Victoria and Roman were attentive and cared about my dad's rehab. The food was sometimes delicious, sometime not. Rooms were clean. Didn't give 5 stars because the temp help at times were curt.
