At first I thought this was going to be a good place. But things took a bad turn quickly. My dad was there and is capable of making decisions. My sister who is POA was trying to block family from visiting. The administration went along with this for awhile, requesting a code to get in for a visit. But if anyone knows anything about the POA job, they don't have any until the person is unfit mentally or in a coma. This was the most horrible experience ever. My loved one suffered at the Citadel and no one cared. I wouldn't leave a pet there let alone a family member.
My father was a resident there. He was treated very well even though he could be hard to deal with at times. He was well taken care of and the staff went to great lengths to make him feel at home. He recently passed away but went through hospice there. They were wonderful to him and my family. Very caring.
I've just spent a week at the bedside of a family member at the end of a fight with cancer who was lucky enough to come to this facility. Although I came from out of town after she had been at the facility for a month, the care and kindness she had been receiving here was obvious from the moment I arrived.
