My older brother recently had a very severe health incident. He was hospitalized and then required therapy and round the clock care. We were lucky enough to find Citadel in Sterling, Illinois to help him start his journey to health and happiness. I am lucky to be nearby and I’m able to visit daily. The care my Mother has received at Citadel over the past few years has been very good. My family and I have gotten to know the staff over the time she has been staying at Citadel and we have been very happy with their efforts.
I have had a very pleasant experience at Citadel while they have been caring for my sister. My sister has enjoyed her stay and loves the biscuits and gravy.
The staff is polite and helpful. I would recommend Citadel to anyone looking for care for a loved one.
The people on staff are supportive and caring - they are just overwhelmed because there aren't enough of them. As a result, the sickest patients get attention and the ones who are self sufficient are left to fend for themselves. My brother has dementia and did not get a shave or a shower for a week, and I suspect his shirt had not changed in that time either. Some of this is because of the short staff, of course.
