With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We went to Dave’s Hot Chicken as a family at my son’s request, but the experience was disappointing from the start. When we walked in, my husband remarked that the place smelled like “armpit,” which immediately put me off. I ended up not ordering anything because of that. I went to Dave’s hot chicken tonight on my break, as I’ve never had it before, and it definitely sits as one of my favorite chicken restaurants. The start of my experience was already pleasant, as when I walked in, the front counter employee was very welcoming and immediately assisted me by asking if it was my first time, and if I had any questions. I just heard about this new place and the chicken sandwich was extremely delicious and the best I had in a while. Thank You so much, I can't wait to eat there again. I recommend to everyone. Salute from an Army Soldier!
It was pretty good, although a little pricey. The hot was hotter than I'm used to, it was good but I definitely needed a tissue towards the end. Next time I'll try medium. Great service and the manager was really kind. Oh, and the pickles were awesome and plentiful!
