For rent that they charge the quality is undeserved. The building just needs to be under better managed by some that cares. Mad roaches and literally mice tried to jump up on the couch and watch tv with me. I'm joking but they trying to jump up on the couch, almost happened twice. They are not afraid to come in from wherever and just stare at you from the floor. My floor was hideous and that was because the families were trifling. I moved to this complex on July 13th, I have only been here for about two weeks and I am already extremely disappointed with management. On Saturday 20th, my boyfriend locked his bike in the bike storage room, on Sunday 21st, when we went downstairs to pick it up, the bike was not there, all that was left was his front wheel chained to the rack. Trust me, avoid Columbia Uptown and all other properties managed by Van Metre *at all costs.* Columbia Uptown is a horrible place to live. The building is plagued by constant theft, with packages, bikes, and bike wheels being constantly stolen and management doing virtually nothing about it. You simply cannot have packages reliably delivered to you at Columbia Uptown. I know tenants who have lost *hundreds and hundreds of dollars* worth of stolen packages. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I don't even know where to begin with the issues from this property. 1) rampant pest problems - mice and roaches - that won't go away even with an immaculate apartment and regular pest control visits 2) nonexistent building security - I have come home at night to a previously evicted tenant who had been reported to have stalked members in the building, SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR OUTSIDE OF MY APARTMENT DOOR. Before applying to this place, be 100% sure you want to live here because they make you pay a $350 fee on top of a $50 application fee. Before applying, I called to ensure this extra fee would be refundable if we ended up choosing another apartment which I was assured it was. It only became a "move-in fee" if you signed the lease. Well, after continuing to call them over the course of 2 weeks to see if we were approved, we went with another apartment and surprise, they said I was told wrong information and pocketed my $350 "... read more
