It's a nice place to sit and people watch for a bit but the atmosphere is a bit off putting, staff (a male member specifically) need to control the volume of their voice a bit and not shout like they're outdoors in an open field. Coffee was OK.
We had a bit of an emergency and ducked in to use the restroom. This Costa has a "customers only" policy for the toilets, which is understandable, so we picked up a couple of muffins to be legitimate customers. Turned out to be a great move the muffins were genuinely good! The facilities were clean and well-kept, we just had to wait a moment in a short queue. All in all, a positive pitstop that solved our problem and gave us a nice little treat.
Staffs need to be trained big time, requesting the manager to check the operations. The staff were more focused on talking and laughing rather than taking my order despite me asking if I can place my order. My latte was done wrong with shots being poured on top like a macchiato. Toilets are not checked. Being a member of the coffee board in India, I've seen various cafe operations, but this one was below par.
Disappointed with my trip to Costa coffee today - 16/11/25 It was once my go to place to refuel when visiting a great city like Manchester, but today was unfriendly, unwelcoming and a huge disappointment. The young male barista was not polite, or welcoming and had no manners. A shame, as it was once a friendly place when I visited this time last year. The staff, especially the female Baristas who were there in 2024 were great … Bring them back!
I had a very disappointing experience at this café. After placing my order, the staff made my drink but didn’t bother to let me know it was ready—they just left it there without saying a word. What’s worse, it felt like I was being treated differently because of my race. The staff showed no respect or basic courtesy. I do not recommend this place to anyone who values decent service and equality.
