Dr. Penciu is the best. I've had a number of psychiatrists over the years and I appreciate his combination of expertise, kindness and patient explanations so much. He takes the time and space to listen. I think the main thing that's needed in a therapeutic relationship is trust, and he definitely inspires that. Uncaring, insensitive and dismissive before I'd even had a chance to talk to anyone. I was referred here by my PCP. After making an online appointment and filling in the appropriate online forms with my details I got an appointment confirmation and was feeling pretty elated that it had been so easy. Today they canceled my appointment sending me a rather uncaring email telling me they don't accept my insurance and I'd would have had to pay out of pocket. I had a wonderful visit with Dr. Penciu and he was so helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. He taught me so much while we talked, and this was one of the only psych appointments I've ever had where I truly felt listened-to. In the end, we came to a great solution with a whole bunch of promising next steps that I'm excited about. Thank you Dr. Penciu!
