Update # 2: Critter Control contacted me shortly after they declined to repair the damage to the mesh. The manager was reviewing the notes from my phone call with the office personnel and decided to contact me of his own volition to find out exactly what was going on. Bravo! He offered to send someone out to take a look at the damage and if it looked like the mesh wasn't secured properly, they'd fix it - and they did!
