TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

When it comes to hot chicken, I expected a spicier chicken, but the dominant spice was cumin. Maybe because I chose medium level spice. Portions are large and delicious. The taste of the potatoes is not bad either. It is very good that they provide wet wipes (I saw this for the first time in the USA).
Staff at the counter were pleasant to interact with and the store was pretty clean. The food however is an overpriced joke. Extra hot was not spicy. The fries were definitely too salty. And the size of the sliders felt like a scam for the price they charge. Staff get an A+ but the food gets a D-.
I had Dan ring me up and he was just the nicest guy. Was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. And the food was tasty, got the mild spice just to try it out and wow it was great. I ate the food so fast that there wasn't even time to take a picture. Chicken was crisp but not dry inside. Will be back to try the next level of spiciness.

In my opinion, this is the best fried chicken place. The chicken is always fresh, crispy, and well seasoned. The medium spice does not have much bite so I would order around that level. Also, the m&m topped smoothies are surprisingly addicting. Any one of the orders will fill you up and the staff is always friendly/fast.
