TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Love that this is halal! And we can go up on spice levels. Food always tastes fresh! Dave's sauce is on point too. Fried and Cole slaw are fresh! Nothing overpowering
The food was mid because the seasoning tasted like tacos... kinda weird ngl but there sauce is pretty good but the spice and the medium spice was nothing no spice at all. The service was good it came out in less than 5 minutes. The atmosphere was lit I like the murals in the walls.
Dave's hot chicken was pretty good but super sloppy. Giant tender on a small brioche bond they should've sliced the tender in half so it could've been more balanced.... two saucy made it slip while biting.
Consistency is key to any successful eatery. And Dave's Hot Chicken has been consistently good every time I've been. Servers are friendly and the place is usually nice and clean.
Blah! That is my thought but I seem to be in the minority as the line was long and my granddaughter says "it's incredible." Basically it is a deep fried chicken breast on a bun with kale. They give you spice packets in one of three temperatures. Also it is more fast food than anything-this I did not know prior to my first and last visit.
Of all the hot chicken places that have opened up recently, I think Dave's is my favorite. Their chicken is always consistently high quality and moist and tender, and their heat levels are accurate and perfect. I haven't gone past medium still,but for me it's perfect. Aesthetically the location is similar to other ones, so nothing specific to the location in Shelby, not there is any really culture in this area to specify to. The customer service was great, and really overall a great experience.

I was serviced by a wonderful server named Diamond and her coworkers and I told them that my review would be after my lunch: first the non spice chicken sandwich was very flavorful, and juicy, highly recommended for beginners into the chicken sandwich game, and I also got a mild sandwich. I tried the honey on the mild and honestly it works with it very well.
