I had heard about the nyc opening a while ago and finally made it down to try it. Since I ordered everything medium spicy, I didn't get to try the famous hotter varieties. But everything was still really good. The chicnen was tender and flavorful. The fries were hot and well-seasoned. The guy handing out the orders was friendly. Arrived mid day on a Sunday. All seats were taken inside but there was no wait for ordering. I ordered the #3 combo - tender, slider and fries (approximately $15 including tax). I figured this would give me a chance to try mild and medium spice levels. It took about 2 minutes for me to get my order. The portion was huge!!! Neither spice level was really that spicy though. Amazing meal, I just wish it had more flavor. They're famous for their spices which are NO JOKE. My cousin decided to get the reaper special and boy let me tell you... The spices were so hot he was sweating for 30 minutes straight. I chose to get the mild because my spice tolerance is low. First experience with Dave's Hot Chicken, and the staff who took my order were exceptionally friendly. Opted for Dave's #3--1 Tender, 1 Slider, and Fries, mac & cheese --accompanied by an Oreo vanilla shake. The chicken was tender, served with a side of Dave sauce. Came back today and grabbed an order to go....Instead of getting the HOT flavored chicken tenders and being disappointed 2 months ago.........I decided to get one Mild tender and one Medium tender and I really enjoyed the Mild flavor. It didn't burn my mouth and it tasted great with ranch sauce. I like spicy foods and usually have raw chilies over my rice. Dave's hot chicken stimulate my appetite! I ordered both hot and extra hot sliders to try and they were delicious. I like the extra hot more than the regular hot and can't wait to order the reaper next time. The service was awesome too.
