We were so excited when we arrived at David’s Bridal in Cambridge! This was my niece’s first bride’s dress shopping experience! We were warmly greeted at the door and allowed to browse the dresses until Valerie our consultant, greeted us. She gave us some ideas on style and silhouette then pulled some dresses for my niece to try. It was a Saturday and the clients were all well spaced, it was not overcrowded. I REGRET GETTING MY DRESS HERE! Thank Heavens it wasn't my wedding dress! Find a local bridal shop they will NOT disappoint you. This place was crowded, overbooked (even when you make an appointment) LOUD. A lot of waiting around, every disorganized. Our appointment we were given 1 change-room for 6 girls, barely any seating, only good thing was our stylist was nice. Absolutely horrible experience! I appreciate and understand that during COVID, a lot of things had to be changed and adapted to meet certain retirements, but listening to your client should be the same. I made an appointment to look at wedding dresses. We arrived, and were taken to the back. The stylist asked what kind of dress I was looking for, and went to pull things. No measurements taken. first of all huge thanks to Val today she was wonderful. we left WITHOUT a dress because the manager was one of the most condescending unkind people I'd ever spoken to. she actually walked by.... tapped her watch... and said we needed to move things along. we had been standing around the 1st half hour of our booked appointment because our agent had another bride booked at the same time. Worst experience! Staff were very rude, not friendly and acted like customers aren’t important. Bought my dress, it didn’t need alterations so I left it in the bag till the day before the elopement. To my horror, when I took it out... it was covered in long black hairs. The stitching on the bust was ripped and the bra clip at the top of the zipper was ripped off. Sadly went to the store without an appointment. The lady at the store said we could look around but couldn't try anything on without an appointment. Not even close to like the one in the States.
Made an appointment for 3 people trying on bridesmaid dresses, but was only given 1 change room for our 90 minute appointment (even though there was an empty one beside us the whole time). Our consultant was awkward and seemed like she didn’t know how to take measurements or clip dresses properly. I told her what style we were looking for and she made maximum 2 recommendations for dresses that didn’t even fit what I had told her (float, beachy, not strapless). When you purchase and have a dress fitted at David‘s bridal, save yourself the trouble and get them to guarantee that the dress will fit when you receive it or they will alter it at their cost. We had a very bad experience with them that the dress they fitted and supplied was way too small. Even that their staff fitted the dress they would only alter it if WE would pay for the altering costs. When we went there for the second time today to pick up the altered dress it still does not fit with the wedding coming up in a week. ... read more
