I had my appointment for my bridesmaid dresses this past Saturday at the East Brunswick location. My bridesmaids and I were highly disappointed with the service. Our attendant had another appointment during our scheduled time. I understand that this happens on Saturdays. However, the store was not busy at all when we got there in the morning. I thought I would be picking up my dress today... but the heathen who was originally helping me had a funky ass attitude and the dress was the wrong size. Smfh. Originally ordered a 14... they ordered a 12 (which made me cry when I tried it on cuz I was so pissed) then they measured me and said with my measurements I need a size 16... which didn't sound right to me but I was like okay... measurements can't be wrong right? I really loved this store and its staff at first. Now I´feel disappointed and sad. I went to Miami on vacation in February and found the dress of my dreams in Davids Bridal, Coral Gables, and was so happy. Unfortunately my size was not in store, so I was adviced by the seller to buy a smaller size (8). A seamstress in the store came out and assured me that there would be "no problems at all" to take it out in the waist. It was soo terribly expensive for the alterations. Heck my dress and veil and undergarments were $1500, why should alterations be $400. That was ridiculous. No reason if u buy a dress that expensive should anyone have to spend that much on alterations. That is robbery!
Knee length dresses are NOT too short for a 50 year old. The fact that the customer stated both dresses were perfect would usually prompt the question: great, can we ring them up? Not state, I will put them away. $300+ in sales lost because the staff didn't ask questions, learn about my needs OR listen to my buy signals. I have shared my thoughts with friends and will ensure my other 4 daughters choose other stores when there time for formal wear comes.
When I went in to pick up my dress after alterations, I was told I did not have an appointment and my dress was not at the store. I was told to call the Sawmill to location to see if they had it. The person from Sawmill told me where to have the staff at the Easton location look. They were able to find the dress. When I went to try it on, the staff in alterations was very cold towards me. I was extremely disappointed in how I was treated after I bought my dress, 2 belts and had alterations don't by Davids.
My first experience wedding dress shopping was last week and the experience was a bit lack luster. To be fair I don't know what the "normal" shopping/appointment experience is like at a Davids Bridal. My friend and I are both getting married next year and went here to try on some dresses and potentially buy one. Very large selection, but very hard to find dresses. The dresses are categorized but there is no catalog or key to the dresses. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom showes signs that it has not been cleaned for weeks. The smell is unbearable and being in the fitting room next to the the bathroom did not make an enjoyable experience. Went here for bridal alterations and had a horrible experience. My dress was a disaster and the people who work there were incredibly rude and unhelpful - they actually just walked away from me when I was saying I didn't like how my dress turned out. It wasn't until I was crying and my mom sternly spoke with someone that we got a little help.
