David’s Bridal in Lexington KY, you should be ashamed. Day one of going there, I should have straight walked out. I’m not the one to ever complain or especially leave a bad review.. but they literally ruined my wedding day. For starters, I went in with my mother and future mother in law. We had made an appointment and needed to find a wedding dress and a dress for each of them. David’s Bridal has been nothing but disappointing to me. The first time I walked through the front door, I had a difficult time getting help from the associates. I guess it’s b/c I wasn’t looking for a bride’s dress. They never gave me the time of day. I ended up finding a dress and going to the dressing room, etc. on may own. Then, I needed to get it altered, and they performed the alterations. First, they broke the zipper during the first fitting after they altered it. I added sleeves to my dress. When I tried it on the sleeves were not what I wanted but could live with. The work was unacceptable and there is not time for them to be fixed before my wedding. I took it out of the bag at home to show a friend and it looked worse then it in the store. Seams coming out, fraying fabric. It looks like it was an after thought that was added right before I came in to the store. A friend of mine removed the sleeves in 1 minute. Definitely disappointed.

PLUS SIZE BRIDES LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE. This was probably the most embarrassing and hurtful experience of my life. I drove two and a half hours to be made feel like I don’t deserve to have a beautiful dress. I was so excited because I had marked so many options online of dresses I loved. I get there and am told to “just look around”. My stylist was apparently working with not one other bride, but two. And apparently I was last in her options. I am plus size. A street size of 22. Apparently over 4 years ago I had a terrible experience the first time I went to try on wedding dresses. I don’t remember much, but I do remember the second time being so fantastic that it made me forget the first time. Fast forward to last week, and my sister-in-law went to the exact store to try on dresses for the first time as well. My initial visit was so fun! Tried on a 2, it was slightly too big. Got measured, was told I’m a 00. Sounded very odd but also kind of exciting! Dress comes in and it fits horribly all over in all places- no big deal, that’s what alterations are for! On this visit I was told to set an alteration appointment so we did! Came back to revisit the dress with the girl who helped me pick out the dress and a young seamstress. Pleasant experience! Came back when it was “finished”.
