Where to begin in this monstrosity of a story? I am a first time bride and was so excited to finally go shopping for the perfect wedding dress for my perfect day. Through word of mouth I decided to try Davids Bridal. Little did I know this would be the worst and only mistake I could make during my year of planning and putting together my special day. Not wanting to spend a ton of money on a dress I chose DB..HUGE mistake, I spoke to the "online rep" who instructed me that with my DD bust and size 6 body a size 10 would be perfect, well WRONG...6 inches or more too small at the bust couldn't even zip it, having to return it, but NOT for another size because a REAL wedding shop tells me in order to cover my bust witout special ordering I would have to order a size 24 (for larger girls) and have 3/4 of the dress removed, I'm only 5 ft 3 alos so I am UPSET with all of it. I had a very wonderful experience buy my gown, however things went downhill rather quickly after that. First, David's Bridal sold my information to a bunch of scam artists that called my cell phone over 1000 times in the last 2 months. Very not cool, they call at all hours of the day and night. Second, when I went to pick up my gown it was horribly wrinkled. The store manager assured me and laughingly said "We don't sell wrinkled gowns. I got my dress four months before my wedding I was already married we just wanted to do somthing small with our families . They would not give me the right size dress I'm a size 2 they gave me a size 6 and when it came in it was way to big then they ordered a size 4 dress my husband is in the army so I had to move a month before my wedding so I couldn't do the fitting I had to trust them cause they wouldn't get me a 2 . David's Bridal was my first choice when choosing my wedding gown, I think they had a great selection of dresses and awesome choices for my bridesmaids. It always seemed like they had new dress styles when I went in to the store. They listened to what I was wanting in a dress and helped me find the perfect dress for the perfect price. I was thinking of having my dress tailor-made, and I was just looking to see what dress style would flatter me more, but then I saw a dress like I had always wanted and at a VERY GOOD price. I loved it!
The chain store has to adhere to corporate's stringent policies, however...I loved the dress I tried on and it fit perfectly in the size 4, and the price was acceptable at $400. They were going to sell me that exact dress that who knows how many girls had tried on and gotten marks and snags in the fabric. I found some flaws and when I pointed them out, they said they'd order me a new one. I have been to David's Bridal for 2 fittings for 2 different weddings now at 2 different locations (on in Brookfield, WI and one in Greenfield, WI). The service I received was HORRIBLE. The people, including the manager Penny (in Greenfield), was so incredibly rude and unfriendly I could not believe it.
