Had a visit that I called to cancel a week in advance get counted against me for the missed appointment limit, because they failed to actually cancel it…When I pointed this out, I was told nothing could be done about it because it was “policy,” and I should’ve been more diligent about making my appointments. I called to cancel in advance. I gave a whole week of notice. And it wasn't canceled. And somehow that counts against me? This is your mistake, not mine. Do better. The initial nurse (Terry?) and nurse practitioner (Dr. Theresa Ottman) were both rude. We were 5 minutes late due to leaving my autistic son's counseling. My son was struggling to express himself during her depression screening. He kept looking to me for guidance as well as being nervous. Her tone of voice was not accomodating for an autistic.. it shows she has no adequate training or empathy skills. Daymark in Boone was an amazing help today. They got us in quickly when we called and talked to them as we were trying to get in anywhere. Debbie and the entire front office we welcoming and absolutely amazing taking time to check on us even after the provider had seen us. It is difficult having you child so far from home at school and needing to talk to someone and these ladies were amazing and so helpful. Don't listen to the negative reviews. I've been going to Daymark since March 2015 and they have been wonderful. They are great at what they do. They have worked with me and got me the appropriate medication. I have a wonderful therapist there, she's incredible, I couldn't imagine talking to anyone else. These people really care and put everything they have into helping people. As long as you're willing and show up they will help you.

The Watauga office staff are always so welcoming and helpful with various needs in every capacity possible. My clients and I are so thankful to be able to utilize their services, and appreciate the wonderful care given to us! I would most definitely recommend this facility to anyone needing any form of mental health services.
