Warning: the air conditioning does not work. It is a central system that only blows air like a fan, no cooling at all. During a 35°C heatwave, the room was unbearable. When I complained, the front desk told me all rooms are the same, and claimed the lobby feels cooler because of the open entrance doors — which makes no sense when it’s 35°C outside. Misleading advertising. Would not recommend in summer.

Had a very pleasant stay at the Mercure Hotel Düsseldorf Nord. It’s a lovely place to stay — clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which was truly 5-star quality with a great variety and fresh options. The staff were very professional, courteous, and always willing to help. My room was ridiculously hot, i found it very difficult to sleep, i was told the air conditioning doesn't work when it's hot outside which is a pathetic excuse as that's the only time it's required. I've never had this problem in any other hotels and I've stayed in hundreds over the years. Obviously it must be a lack of investment in sufficient cooling capacity. This is hardly a two-star hotel and no where near a 4-star for the following reasons: The hotel has been bought by Sunday and no one had informed me via email whatsoever. I came from airport on a taxi and we were keep looking for Mercure Hotel sign for over 30 minutes, which was very frustrating. I learned communication is one of the worst things at this hotel. Rooms are very old, no fridge, no bottle water when you arrive which makes you to go grocery shopping as you arrive which is ridiculous. Bathroom is moldy, no trash... read more

Clean, modern hotel. Great breakfast (hot and cold). Highlights: WMF coffee machine using FRESH milk (instead of powdered milk): Fresh scrambled eggs (many hotels supply bag in box eggs). Very friendly staff.
