(Dime Bank on Montague Street, Brooklyn) Disgusting service. When I got cash from a cash machine, I didn't select small bills fast enough and received a $100 bill. So stopped in at the Dime Bank where I used to have an account, and asked the person at the counter if she would give me two $50s for my $100 bill. she asked if I had an account there. I said I did not. Three word response: "Only for customers." So glad i will never have to go there again.

I recently tried to open an account for my youth agency in this particular Dime bank, Brooklyn Heights. I was informed I needed a deposit of a 1000.00 dollars. Can anyone tell me since when does a not for profit organization is required to have this kind of deposit. I'm just starting out trying to do a positive thing for our city and this is the welcome I get. This to me is why New York is going down hill. The quality of life is just awful. Not to mention the serious rise in graffiti everywhere.

Terrible customer service over the phone. I could clearly tell the agent wasn't paying attention as she repeatedly asked me for information I had just given to her. Then, she gave me bad information on a point that I specifically asked for her to repeat since I figured she was careless. That bad information led me to waste 3 hours driving into Brooklyn and pay for parking. Rinky dink operation.
If possible I would rate this bank negative 5 stars. It took me over 30 minutes on the phone and still failed trying to link an external bank account, which, frustrated, led me to close the account on the spot. It was processed without a hitch this time! Little did I know there would another call with yet another set of "security questions" to answer before they would process! I found this out only after 6 days of the closing request when I noticed funds had not been transferred. The customer service is non-existent at this ... read more
