I had to switch OB offices early in my 3rd pregnancy (2021) for reasons which I will not disclose. I was anxious about finding a new OBGYN who was as good as my previous one. I went on the SPHP website and read bios of their OBGYNs. I chose Dr. Gottesman and was able to make an appointment with her. I knew she would be great from the minute I met her. I visited this office as a new patient at the end of January 2025. During the appointment, the examination was brief, lasting about five minutes, and did not include a review of my medical history or a rectal exam, which I have routinely had in the past. After the exam, the doctor stood by the door and asked if I had any questions. As she hadn’t reviewed my chart, I had to initiate the conversation by sharing my medical history and mentioning my menopause symptoms. I went to Dr. Gottesman to get established with a new obgyn office. She would not order an ultrasound when I requested one due to the symptoms I was having. I had to see the other doctor in the practice to agree to one. The ultrasound showed I had something that needed to be surgically removed. She could have saved a lot of time and discomfort by doing the ultrasound when I originally requested one.
