I had a great experience at Discovery Treatment Center, thanks to the fantastic staff, especially the nurses. Unfortunately, I had to leave unexpectedly and faced challenges with the personal belongings policy. I couldn't return for thirty days, and there was a 72-hour hold on my items, which made it hard to get my license and insurance card for another treatment center. Receptionist and entry staff are absolutely terrible for such a wonderful program. Came to collect belongings for a family member who called to let them know I was coming and sat in a waiting room for over two hours because the receptionist would rather stare at her phone and screens instead of simply making a phone call.
I had a few problems there...but the problems weren't because of them, they were because I didn't want the help at the time. So its my only fault for leaving...but the counselors are great , my roommate was great , good was great, attitudes of nurses were great. The Jamaican nurse was amazing ....she treated me like a regular person the street and not just some random junkie..so even though I (A.M.A) ... My experience at Discovery institute has been wonderful, this program has and is playing a big role in my recovery givinge the tools and education to continue on a path of sobriety. All staff members are great showing love and encouragement.I want to thank Medical and clinical counselors who are extremely professional with plenty of experience.
