I was really impressed with the prompt and professional visit to the Ka’anapali office of Doctors on Maui Urgent Care Center. The registration and check-in was very easy and in just a few minutes I was directed into a patient room. The nurse, Jana, who came in first was outstanding and checked my wife out totally. Next the nurse/pa came in and listened to what were the issues/problems and prescribed a quick shot to alleviate her pain and also sent a prescription to a nearby Walgreens. The staff is super helpful and very kind hearted. They didn't try to do any unnecessary procedures. The medical team was also great. They were very experienced and knowledgeable. I felt better about my injury. I was given the tools and meds to get through our vacation.... Just moving a bit slower with a knee injury. I was so glad we went to them for the help we needed. They were quick but we didn't feel processed, like other urgent care like facilities. I would highly recommend them over any other place in Maui.
The service was quick and thorough but anyone considering coming here needs to be warned that it's easily 4-5 times more expensive than any other option on the island. They will get you an itemized bill with medical codes which I used to verify against publicly available data in the area. To be clear, I'm comparing the charges for these same codes against other urgent care options in the area. Expect somewhere around +$500 for the services. From the front desk, to Felicia and RN Caroline, and to the billing desk-everyone was so kind and welcoming. Caroline asked very appropriate questions and easily resolved my situation. I am so grateful.
Extortion. Plain and Simple. My daughter was not feeling well, we visited for less than 10 minutes (it was quick, if that's all that matters) and we received a $909 bill for the visit and a flu, covid, and strep test. I called and questioned the pricing and their short answer was, "We can charge what we want."
