I been taking my animals, both long-time friends and rescued foster residents, to East Lake Animal Clinic for more than 30 years - dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and nearly every other furred, feathered and scaled critter needing care. I appreciate that they combine a wide range of general care experience with state-of-the-art equipment and skills, are open late and on weekends (can't count how many times I've needed them Sunday evenings!), give a range of care options whenever available, and have a good network of specialists... read more

I've only been here twice. Once for my dog who had parvo and then another time when he needed his rabies vaccine. The first time we went in was during emergency hours. I think it's totally awesome they are open until midnight. I don't know if my puppy would've made it if he had to wait any longer. The cost for treating parvo was very expensive so we were only able to get fluids for him. Also, we were charged to learn how to give our dog the fluids. Anyway, I do thank them for helping us and potentially saving my dog's life.... read more

Took my dog in to get his nails trimmed. Didn't have an appt. Total time in the office from walking in to out the door was 30min. Considering how busy it was while I was in the waiting room (on a Saturday). I think the staff did an awesome job. The staff is there to help us (pet owners) not to make our lives miserable. As stated from the negative comments posted from other clients. Keep up the good work East Lake.

Dr. Carroll took the time to read my review about the $30 charge to be in the room when your pet is euthanized. He emailed me to let me know that he was sorry and has since changed the policy. That makes him A-OK in my book!

Been taking my dog here for the last three years. Place is okay and walking distance from my home. I agree with some of the reviews posted in regards to certain vets padding the bill. I recommend you request Dr. Casper. He seems to be more genuine about helping your pet without breaking the bank. Staff is always friendly.....especially Brittany! The renovated reception area looks much nicer, but would have been awesome if they did something about the waiting area. Would be nice to set something up like Watsonville Animal Ho... read more

I am very glad to have Dr. Carroll as our vet. He has taken care of 6 of our pets in the last 10 years. Tried Aptos as we live there now but was very dissatisfied due to their BS, attitude and sell, sell, sell. I am willing to drive the 15 miles to his facility and also, the wait time because I know they are going to get the best care. He has helped us keep our pets alive longer and healthier and when it was time for my beloved old timers to go, he was a great Doctor and friend. I well up with tears thinking of Merced... read more

My own experience here is that they have been real good to me and my dog! They are expensive but have a clean clinic every time I go in.

I was very pleased with the services we received. I called on a Friday to make an appointment to take a friend's dog in to get spayed. The receptionist was very pleasant, and said they could do it as early as tomorrow (Saturday). The dog was pregnant, so I knew the cost would be a little higher than normal. The entire spay was about 200, to euthanize the puppies (she was that far along) was another 50, meds and shots and e-collar (all of which she needed) brought the total to 329--this for a major surgery and overnight hospi... read more
