Star I came out of town to celebrate my birthday at Ellis Park and was extremely disappointed with the experience. Upon arriving, the system was completely broken—player cards weren't working, ticket readers failed, and after putting money in, machines printed tickets that couldn't be cashed out or used on other slots. Management and staff made no effort to resolve the issue for the players affected, and no one was able to track their points or gameplay. If you like horse racing this is a great place to go. Easy bet options, plenty of seating, food booths. Casino on the side. Come early to get a good parking spot.
Love the casino because it's close by. I favor Owensboro more but the drive is a bit much if you just wanna have a bit of fun on a limited amount of time. Ellis has always been my choice for gaming in this area. Entrance age is now 21+ rather than 18 as in the past, be prepared to be carded if your younger, but get ready to have some fun. Lots of promotions and giveaways every week/month throughout the year. New members recieve guaranteed FREEPLAY.
Staff is friendly but slots are tight most of the time. Wish they'd have some old school slots to choose from of at least some video poker/Keno/blackjack options. They recently added roulette but I wouldn't recommend playing as I've spent $100s texting it out and haven't ever hit even a 50/50 off for picking black/red or odd/even.
I felt like I walked into the basement of a old hotel the air had a musty smell. The ventilation was not working well parts of the room smelt good and then other areas smelt of years of nicotine. There were a lot of machines not working. It definitely needs an upgrade
