I was very impressed with St. Peter’s Emergency Dept when I went the first week of June for some concerning health symptoms. I was VERY nervous, as I hate going to the Doctor’s office and suffer from White Coat Syndrome. I had to talk myself into walking through the ER doors. I almost left. I finally went in. Had a visit to the ER yesterday. Heart rate was up to 201, they took care of me immediately. I've never had such good, fast care before. They made sure to keep me calm, let me know every step that was happening. Two nurses even held my hands when I was super nervous. The care in this facility is top notch! I will always go to St Peter's no matter what the situation!
The staff was fabulous from Security getting me to my father, the nurse, PCA and physician that took care of my father. The facility cleanliness was extremely poor. I felt like I needed a shower when I left. I have never been to a facility that was so filthy. I’m glad my father did not have any open wounds. The dirt on the walls, flooring is cracked around the base of the room. This has been my experience for the last 4 visits with my mother and father. Why they still insist on being brought to your facility is beyond me.
The ER beds, after a patient who was very ill left. I watched a Cleaner/CNA walked in took the top bedding off- grabbed a clean bedding and made the bed without wiping it down with any sanitary wipes. After she made the bed - she the picked the trash up near the bed and that was it. I was shocked. She did not once clean the bed rails or mattress with sanitary products between patients. I've been to this ER 3 times. The first time I was sent by my doctor, for a collapsed lung thatresulted from an injury. My Dr. called them and told them I would be coming after I went home to get my cats situated. Staff were waiting for me. It took awhile but I was brought up to a room, treated, observed, etc. The second time I was brought in by ambulance with pneumonia and coughing up blood. I was treated quickly and brought to a room.
