RecommendedWe rented our Escape Campervan (Maverick model) from NYC and drove it across the country to California. We went through NY, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. AND WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME. It was me, my wife, and our dog Lion. We loved our campervan and we loved our two week trip round New york state (and a bit of Massachusetts). People could not have been more friendly or more helpful. The camper ( Tekumseh) was bright and cheerful and perfect for us. Everyone liked it and lots of people took photos of it. It had everything we needed for our trip. Was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We have three kids and two adults in our family the kids slept in the van and my wife and I slept in the pop top sleeper .. it was awesome the van had everything we needed ...many people asked about the van from campsite workers to long time traveling campers.... after seeing what the van offered and how it was laid out everyone continued saying this is all you need and that it was better than large campers in because it's difficult to get in and out of small crowded towns ... read more

I thought I was booking a van through Escape and even got a message from them titled “Online Booking With Escape Campervans INC” with a booking number, which I assumed was a confirmation code. NOPE! Turns out it’s a “request to book” and over a day later, they “declined” my booking because they didn’t have any vans available.
