We rented a unit at the (8803 E Pecos Road) right off of Ellsworth near Mesa/Queen Creek. Rent was quoted at $130 a month. After 90 days, we received a post card, which at first glance appeared that they were asking us to update our address. Thankfully, I noticed that the postcard was folded and sealed, or I would've thrown it away. Inside it was a notice of a rate change. My rates went from $130 a month to $210.12!!! Overpriced!! They get you in at a low and then triple your rate in 6 months. Just be honest upfront and keep the rate for a year instead of increasing the rate so rapidly.
When we first got our storage, they had a move-in special and it was okay. We had an outside unit of 20x20. Within two years of having this unit, we started with a $150/mo payment and they've been gradually increasing the price every few months. We received another notice (by MAIL, not email) they would be increasing the price to $303/mo by Jan 2025 and it prompted us to leave. Move in was good and I liked the place well enough until today. All of a sudden, the price for my unit went from $119 to $197 in one month without notice. I can't believe that they can raise prices that much without even notifying me. I found out later that they send notification by mail. Maybe it would be better to send notification by snail mail and email.
