I spoke to Destiny today. My unit at Federal Way location was broken into in October! My unit is 7073. That is why there is a lock on it. I didn't not get a call or letter. Nothing! I'm pissed because I just went to my storage unit the day before Thanksgiving! I'm pissed for a lot reasons. Destiny couldn't tell me what was taken. Lack of customer service. A lock was put on my storage unit and I've never missed a payment. I went to get items out of my unit the day before Thanksgiving and I was locked out! I called customer service and was told I don't owe anything and it is a mistake. I was told I would get a call today. I didn't get a call. I've been renting from extra space storage in Federal Way, Washington since June 2025. I've never missed a payment. I went to my storage unit and a lock was put on it. I called customer service and was told that I do not owe anything but they couldn't do anything about it until Friday after Thanksgivin. Instead of getting an apology. The advent of digital business and communication should not delete actual customer service. When a proven customer is at your counter and asks for assistance with entry you do not tell them to download an app. Now I have to delete an unwanted app and the 6 others that came with it. While I was downloading the app I am blocking traffic because I need to download an app and open an account to open the gate. Stay far away from this storage space. They get broken into constantly. A month ago several units were robbed one night, but the manager did not call any of the storage owners to let them know to remove valuables etc as they could not guarantee any security or safety. (although the website says "safe and secure storage" Haha yeah right. So what do you think happened? I would not recommend using this business to store any belongings. My unit, as well as many others were broken into 9/11/24. The culprits broke into a side fire escape door to access the facility. No response from fire, or police as far as I know on this break in. After talking to multiple customers today, this has been an ongoing problem with countless burglaries. The insurance company has stated that the company was supposed to call and ask us if we wanted to take photos before they even touch the door to close it. We were... read more
