Beware of Farm Bureau Insurance I’ve been a loyal customer of Farm Bureau Insurance since I was 17, but my experience with them has been a disaster in recent years. After hearing similar stories from others, I felt it was important to share mine. 1. Hurricane Coverage Issue: After the hurricane, I had coverage with Farm Bureau through Maison as the underwriter. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. After being totally screwed over by State Farm and Go Auto I called Farm Bureau. I had the pleasure of talking with Mr. Darren Theriot. He is a helluva good guy. I needed insurance on my pickup right away. Mr. Darren said "not a problem" and went to work. I sent him what he needed and less than 30 minutes later I had full coverage insurance on my truck for $136 a month. Been hiking my insurance for the 2yrs. My rates have gone up 178 in the last 18 months with no tickets or any traffic citations. They excuse is the commissioner has increased the rate, but I go through a company and my rates are lower for the same coverage. I would not recommend farm bureau of Lake Charles.
I am very disappointed with LA Farm Bureau. From rude and insulting remarks from claims adjusters to being non responsive, this has been the biggest upset. Multiple hurricane damages and over six months of begging for money that I pay for on time every month is ridiculous. I would never recommend them for any type of insurance coverage. I have a surplus of coverage for ALE, damages, and contents, but yet they refuse to pay me for any travel expenses from evacuation, they refuse to pay for a storage unit unless I buy it f... read more
