I recently applied with this company for a refinance. We locked in a low interest rate and when it came time for approval they walked away. I am a retired physician with > 4 mil in savings that produces 100 + K a year in income . Was asking for a 500K 15 year loan on a home that appraised for 1.6 million, <their appraisal>. My guess is that when interest rates started to rise and it was no longer in their interest to fund the loan they decided that I would not qualify.
