First Steps Recovery is a super solid program! I am a program director of a local detox and residential treatment center a few cities over, Roseville Recovery, and had the pleasure of coming out to meet Nick Fogle and some of the other staff at First Steps. From intake to discharge, my experience with residential treatment with First Steps Recovery (FSR) was outstanding. FSR changed my life at a time when I was in serious need of help. So many people, struggling with addiction, with seemingly no place to go, should seek out FSR. I would highly recommend this place for anyone truly seeking sobriety. The Counselors/therapists are amazing, each of them have their own unique fun personalities and teach a little differently, which is nice because everyone has a different way of learning. They put your needs first before curriculum. I learned so much from this place, had I known the experience and outcome I would have had, I would have gotten into this place so much sooner. Beautiful residential facility in the quiet hills of Shingle Springs with top tier staff that care about their clients and their path to recovery! Along with a fantastic new outpatient facility in El Dorado Hills again with a strong clinical staff that ensure the best possible treatment for all their clients. This is a program you can truly believe in and live up to what they say they do. I would recommend First Steps to any family or friends that may be struggling.
The inpatient rehab is the worst run medical facility I have ever encountered. That is not an exaggeration. I stayed for 14 days in the middle of August. During that time the water went out twice. The first outage lasted four full days. During that time at the facility toilets didn’t flush, there was no ability to shower, do laundry or even wash hands before meals which were served family style.
