Visiting the island from Calgary. Decided to go on an adventure and find some neat places to eat. Holy cow. So glad that we stopped by this shop. We split a cherry almond dome croissant and had a couple fizzy lemonades. What an experience! The croissant was wonderfully flakey, the cherries were perfectly tart, and the almond crust on the bottom was sheer perfection. It took a lot of self control to not go back up and try one of each of the others. The staff were super friendly and engaging with each person that walked thro... read more

The good: the nice atmosphere, clean and quiet. The bad: the most expensive croissants I've ever seen in Canada and not justifiable. As a French citizen, even high priced croissants in Paris warranty even that expensive after exchange and the Parisian ones were still better quality. Ordered a mocha and it was weak. 12$ for a triple chocolate croissant was insane and I think it was the reason I had the runs after a few hours because I didn't eat anything after that cafe.

A really nice, modern coffee-shop addition to downtown Courtenay. Our coffees were perfect; small and strong. The croissants on offer were delectable and tempting. We really enjoyed the generous, spacious seating. I don’t think there are many other coffee shops in the valley with such a big kids’ play area!

First visit here. While the croissants and coffee were good, they were not quite up to my hopes. After a recent visit to Montreal where the croissants were incredible I had hoped this shop would meet that bar, especially at their price points. Unfortunately they definitely fell short of my expectations. All in all the coffee and croissant was good. I enjoyed it. But I did not feel it was anything special deserving the premium prices. To be honest, I even prefer the ham and cheese croissant at church street bakery and at ha... read more

Nice new coffee shop in town. The crescents were good. I wouldn’t say they were worth the high price. Coffee was great. They were set up nicely to hang out with your kids (little play area). I can’t imagine going here as a regular coffee shop as the crescents are so pricey and there was nothing else on offer for the kids or just as a less expensive treat option. I imagine this will be more of a tourist location rather than a spot for locals. It will be interesting to see if a specialty shop like this can survive in downtown ... read more
