My husband did not need a clearance from cardiologist. He never had any heart problem in his life. He has done several colonoskopies and EGD's in his life and he never was asked to bring a release paper from cardiologist or from any other doctors. He decided to go to another gastro dr to do his EGD. BTW another doctor did not ask for clearance to do the test. This was the first time I saw the doctor and I was very pleased. She took her time both before and after my procedure to explain everything and the results. I would definitely recommend her and the practice
