I'm a new patient and so far I'm not impressed. I've had one appointment and they quickly scheduled the surgery and told me what the process would be. All of this by PA, I've never met the surgeon. I called the office because I had to make a trip to the ER and I had questions about my ongoing care. I have not received a call back, even after I was promised to hear back by 3:00 today. I had researched and thought that this was to be a good place for a large kidney stone procedure. However I'm feeling much less confident now.
I would NOT recommend this practice at all. My husband has a history of kidney stones and was having some complications. He was seen once in the office and they ordered a CT scan to see what the problem was. After waiting several days, he reached out to the imaging place and they finally put him on a schedule. His appointment was cancelled and rescheduled twice due to “insurance being denied” and then they required a “peer to peer” with the doctor. My intention is not to slam this practice. I don't know if it's just the Gainesville location or others, but my wife has had a horrible time trying to make an appointment with her doctor from uncooperative staff, to long phone wait times exceeding 20 minutes, to no call backs. She's had a UTI for weeks that she's been treated for with some antibiotic that isn't working, and the staff are uncooperative in getting her before the doctor. Do they ever answer a phone call?! My urologist moved to this practice and I had an annual appointment set up before they moved so the appointment moved to them with the provider. I got a text reminder of my appointment and I need to cancel. I have been trying to reach them for 3 hours now. I selected a "call back" in the phone que. Still no call. I am also on the line waiting for over 35 min now. I certainly won't recommend this practice. I am glad I am not in medical need at the moment.
Dr Sharpe really helped me out, and everything was satisfactory from beginning to end. It was also reasonably priced for someone who is self-pay.
