A nurse insisted I had a drinking problem, which I drink maybe 6 times a year and it's always beer. She then insisted I take a medication after refusing to take medication for a week they told me of I don't they will strap me down and injected me, I finally caved and she gave me sleeping meds and some unknown medication that caused me to throw up for 3 days. Turns out it wasn't even my medication.
*Please read as they do not deserve 2 stars* This is based on my experience. It actually saddens me to leave this review. The best: the mental health techs (but ONLY the AM staff, all evening staff were always unwelcoming and inconvenienced by all of us). I stayed here recently and found the techs and groups to be beneficial!! They were friendly and I felt comfortable here. They treated me with dignity and allowed me to help in my care plan decisions ! The social worker Leah stayed in touch with my family and kept them updated on my progress. My room was cleaned daily along with all my clothes . I have been at another facility and my family knows if I need help again , this is where I would like to go back to . Was here for 15 days. I needed a detox not a mental hospital. I could have died and the nurses or docs didn’t even realize it. The nurses feel the need to remind you daily what withdrawals you went through when you first got there. They think the patients are a joke. We are no longer human when we walk through those doors. I have been to many different hospitals this one was far by the worst one I have been to. Find a different place for your loved one to go to. I found the staff here delightful and down to earth. They bent over backward to help me and make my stay as easy as possible. I can’t say enough about the Mental Health Technicians. They were professional but caring and treated those of being treated as human beings, not just patients. They did their jobs well and were friendly. The nurses and other staff were great too. I would recommend the hospital to anyone who needs any type of hospitalization for mental health issues.
