We have used Gravina's in the past with good results. Their installers have always been courteous and top notch. The windows we have used (Marvin Infinity) have been a drastic improvement in heating/cooling. Our issues have revolved around the owner and a lack of communication. This last job was the 2nd in which the owner failed to tell us of either installation dates or that the installer was busy and then tried to pin any blame on us. January 3rd, 2012. The window install finally begins. I have no complaints with the install and the two men who eventually performed the install. Mike Gravina came by to collect a check a few days afterward. I gave him an opportunity to explain to me why it took so long. He looked at me and said, "I don't really have one." He apologized and left. I've read rebuttals from the owner about other complaints about his company. He seems to get pretty personal. We went to Gravina windows center with 3 simple requirements: 1/ A French style patio door 2/ Wood inside / white outside 3/ A door that would qualify for the tax rebate We were quoted $3500 by the salesperson (son of the owner) . and had a 2nd person (the owner) come in 3 days later to do the measurements and complete the order. Again we repeated our requirements and specifically asked about the tax rebate - and were assured that the door ordered qualifies. At 30% (installation excluded) - this would be about $800. On August 26, 2009, the customer ordered a patio door from us as evidenced by his signature at the bottom. The dispute boils down to the customer assuming he purchased a door that met the tax credit qualifications. The door he purchased does not meet these qualifications. When he visited our showroom prior to August 26th, my son, Michael, assisted him.
