So yes the great reviews are true. Great American Self Storage is a one of a kind. Customer service is way above and beyond! Kat and John truly care. The facilities are clean, safe, and the atmosphere is friendly. The location is great. Easily accessible for Kona living, coming, and going. I have to say. This place is amazing. I’m just so glad that I was able to find an available space!
I’ve been with them for a few years. It’s a storage unit so don’t need or expect much. Reason for low rating is i checked out of my unit just after they charged me for the month ($200) and they won’t refund or pro-rate. There excuse in the system won’t allow it. We can put a man on the moon in the sixties but in 2023 “our system” won’t allow the refund or pro-rate. How convenient. I needed to store my luggage for a week while I traveled nearby and this was the cheapest (and only) place near the Kona airport to store stuff. I was happy to pay $11 a night for my bag. Unfortunately my trip got cut short. I contacted the lady who runs the place and she was extremely kind and helpful. After I picked my luggage up, she cancelled the rest of my reservation and refunded the unused nights. Also, they've got a big, loving, well-behaved husky who loved getting pets!
Great American self storage is one of a kind! Their customer service is top notch! 5 stars all day! Katherine and John are special people who truly care, I would recommend them in a heartbeat!
We stayed in Kona back in early October and We needed a place to store our family’s luggage for the day as our flight back to the mainland wasn’t until the late evening hours. We called several storage companies in the area and this one was by far the friendliest and most helpful!! She kept all of our luggage safe and for a very fair price and she was extremely accommodating when we came back to pick it up later! I’d highly recommend her for any storage needs!
