TMS therapy is FDA-cleared for the treatment of depression and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Nasal esketamine is the only FDA-approved ketamine-based treatment for depression. I put my information down online to get a price estimate for TMS therapy assuming the email would tell me what it usually costs. I have gotten 13 calls spanning from 8/7/24 until now. I also have a total of 7 voicemails (6 in a span of TWELVE DAYS being 3 days a row TWICE). This makes me completely uninterested. It seems like they are very desperate or just don't cross peoples names off of the list once they've called over 2 times. This approach makes me not want to use this company because it feels like begging and harassme... read more
The treatment didn't work but the assistants were very nice and I looked forward to seeing them. The male psychiatrist is extremely flippant. He leans back casually tapping on stuff and trying to hurry you up. I turned down treatment there for another procedure because I would have had to have it with him. He seems arrogant and does not come across as caring or empathetic at all.
I highly recommend Greenbrook TMS in Charlottesville. From day one, the treatment approach was patient-centered and "my" team was great--a huge shout out to Sharon and Frances! Before I started, Dr. Sauve took his time to answer all of my many questions and then followed my progression closely. If you are even considering TMS, go ahead and attend a free consult. I am glad that I did.
After my 7th session, I experienced serious cognitive impairments and was unable to perform routine computer functions. I had to wait 4 days to talk to a staff psychiatrist, who had no explanation and was unresponsive to my concerns. In my opinion, they are providing a service with potentially serious side effects with minimal support.
