I have just started going to Dr Powell at the recommendation of my pulmonologist and I love him. I’m 83 and he doesn’t rush me or make me feel unheard. He personally called me at 7am on a Saturday morning to tell me he was changing some of my meds based on labs. No Dr has ever done that. I have to maneuver 1604 to get to him but worth the effort. He is a really good doctor and I’m delighted with his care.
Two stars because PA Hernandez and Dr Powell were terrific. Zero stars for HTMG. The rates for self pay patients went up 4 times in the last 5 years or so. I paid $150 as a "down payment " for my last appointment. If your appointment with the PA or Dr was longer than 18 minutes (after waiting 20 to 45 minutes), they charged another $23. I had a follow up appointment 3 months later and planned to pay balance due at that time. I found out that if you didn't pay the balance within 2 months, they send you to collections. My wife & I are long- time patients of Dr. Nguyen and the group at Health Texas at Hwy 281 & Evans. This Excellent Team of smart, caring, responsive, knowledgeable professionals create the best medical care experience we’ve ever had. Together they are a model of the care I wish everyone had.
This practice is only good for healthy people. When trying to schedule an ER follow up for a head injury, I was told there are no appointments for 9 days and I should have called to schedule earlier. So much for patient care
All of the people there were so kind and helpful and made me feel a lot less anxious about going to the doctor. The lady that took my blood did so good that my arm didn’t even hurt after. My PA-C, Sergio Hernandez, listened very thoroughly to my concerns and answered any questions I had. Thanks everyone for being so cool :D
