Heather is awesome and she deserves 5 stars! However the 3 star rating I gave is because I had to go almost a week without my RX medication due to messages I left with the office staff not being given to Heather. It was unpleasant to have to be unmedicated for nearly a week due to office staff dropping the ball. Good thing I’m not Schizophrenic. If I was I really could have gone off the rails going that long without medication. I wonder if the office staff would be held liable if such a situation ever occurred?
I have been with heather since 2021 and she was my first psychiatrist after many years of therapy. I was scared to start psychiatry but Heather has made the journey so amazing. I highly recommend Heather to anyone. She always listens to my concerns and takes my input into consideration.
I did not feel heard by her. Even when I expressed concerns about the side effects of medications. It felt like I was talking to a wall and she was just reading off her questionnaire. When I opened up about what I was going through and my symptoms, she just kept reading off her script. We had around 4 appointments and I thought it would get better with time, but it didn't. This was my first experience with a psychiatrist and it's made me loose a bit of faith in the profession.
Heather was great! She listened to my concerns and addressed my needs. I highly recommend her!
Do NOT book with Heather Shonk. After expressing serious health concerns after discontinuing a medication, she did not show any care in the world. Please, save yourself a headache & find a provider that truly cares about you & your health. Heather Shonk is not the one to book with.
