We hired the car on 28th January 2026 around 8pm from Gold Coast Airport terminal and the customer service lady Katherine was awesome. She was very polite and helpful. She was super fast in sorting out a rental car for us. Kia Sportage was a great car. Katherine should get employee recognition for the great service she provided us. Not impressed with the rental. As a gold member I didn't feel valued. I was given a 60,851km mileage old car with plenty of existing damages. The pictures uploaded by Hertz themselves only showed the clean and nice side of the car. I had to spend a long time and took many pictures around the car to protect ourselves from existing damages. The uploading portal wasn't very user friendly either. I uploaded the initial lots of pictures and then found out there were more damages but the system refused to accept further uploads. They left me stranded at the Gold Coast Airport due to their excessive documentation requirements for locals. It's more than what you'd need to open a bank account. Never had such excessive requirements from a rental company before. They said that without an electricity bill or pay slips, I might steal the car. Rediculous.
We arrived to pick up our car & the car that we had booked - Corolla Hybrid wasn’t available, we were very disappointed as the Hybrid would be much more economical on fuel for all the driving that we were going to do. They gave us a Kia Cerato instead, it wasn’t as nice, or as economical, they offered us a free tank of fuel for the inconvenience. It did the job.
Guy named Binayaka is a horrible lazy guy, absolute disgrace to the company. I cancelled my booking after talking to that rubbish guy. Throw him out of the company, he shouldne in the customer service.
