HERTZ Melbourne is one of the best places to pick up a car. The staff are amazing. We had a Wonderful NZ lady look after us and she was friendly, helpful and funny. She made sure we got what we ordered and was brilliant. Thank you

Terrible experience from start to finish. After a long flight we had to stand in the Hertz office and fill out all of our own information on our own phone. They said it was because we hadn’t done it prior to arrival, we had. Their glitchy system wouldn’t recognise the ID properly either so it took about 20 mins. Not sure why they can’t just look at the physical ID we presented to them. Drop off was even worse. All of the airport signage and Google maps directions are incorrect. Hertz team in Sale were fantastic, last minute booking after missing the train then again extending the rental and one way to drop at Melbourne Airport. Cost twice as much as my usual service but the vehicle and the service and flexibility was excellent.

Rented through Virgin / CarTrawler, supplied by Dollar (Hertz). The voucher showed an all-inclusive price, but after returning the car I was charged extra fees that were already listed as “included”, plus large credit card deposits/holds. At pickup, these charges were not clearly explained. What you’re quoted is not what you end up paying. Do not recommend. Ask for a full written breakdown before giving them your credit card. In my opinion Hertz are scammers ...

Muhammad was great - hunted down a car for me after they had some issues getting the keys. Managed to sort it all out and was very helpful - great customer service from him and apologised for the delay whilst they looked.
