From arrival till departure 8 days later my Hertz hire car was just a great reliable car! I paid for my tank if fuel so as I would not have to try to fill up on my way to the airport and had made sure I was not late for my flight check-in when it was time to return my car. I like Hertz so much that I am a Gold Card member but as I am also cheap I prebook and pay before arrival which does save me some money! Absolute joke of a company, I called and booked in a rental car 3 months in advance. When on the phone I told them my age as im 20 years old (and am aware some companies don't borrow to under 21) I even confirmed this by giving and confirming my date of birth with them, they said this was fine and it would just cost a bit extra to which I agreed. TERRIBLE AND UNFORGIVABLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. We had made a reservation for a Ford Mustang for our Melbourne trip, weeks in advance through dollar car rentals managed by Hertz to pick up from Melbourne airport.
