I contacted Montre Service Les Ulis to have a quartz watch repaired after it had been out of service for several years following its replacement with a smartwatch. The button cell battery had died, and replacing it didn't get it working again. After inspection, the repair estimate was €135, including a complete replacement of the mechanism. Hello. This repair shop is truly, truly one to avoid. A tiny watch battery: €9.90 (on Amazon: €2.60 for two batteries). After installing the battery myself (which I had ordered online), and given my serious disability (I've lost my right hand), I took the liberty of asking them if they could replace the watch case. I'm so disgusted by this company that's lining its pockets. The price for this service: €10.90. I'm very happy. I came to have the strap of my Yema watch repaired. The service was excellent. You can tell the repairman has experience and expertise. What I'm even more pleased about is that he didn't charge me anything. Fantastic.
Changing the batteries and seals is fine. For anything else, steer clear, as they presume to pass judgment despite their truly mediocre knowledge of watches. It's better to be humble and say "sorry, I don't know" or "I can't do it" rather than attempting it without real expertise and making mistakes.
We came to have an old watch strap repaired and replaced. The person was very professional and extremely kind. They gave us excellent advice and the result was outstanding. We will definitely return if needed.
