Every aspect of the Icona Windrift was awesome from start to finish. My wife and I booked a stay with our two boys and came earlier this week. The resort was gorgeous, our room was spotless, and most of the staff was very friendly. The pool is incredible and our boys loved it and spent hours each day swimming. Being so close to the beach and having beach chairs and umbrellas waiting for you was an awesome touch. I highly recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. We will absolutely be back.
We stopped at the Windrift in Avalon for a drink and delicious hummus with fresh veggies on Saturday afternoon before we drove to the Lobster House for dinner. We sat at the bar upstairs. Tyler and Ronnie provided a very nice service. The food was very good and the atmosphere is always friendly. Windrift also has a nice outdoor terrace with ocean view. We highly recommend this long time established restaurant and bar for lunch or dinner. :-)
It's ok. Not as "resort" as advertised. So better than a shore motel but not as solid as a typical "resort". You are constantly navigating Icona's schedules. So they might have like 5 bars but which ones are open? Not all. In fact, it looked more like a skeleton crew running the place in winter than full blown summer. The location is OK, but there is absolutely nothing near this place. You are isolated from downtown. Stone harbor is a 5 min drive away. A 1 mile walk if u want to so that in the heat. We have stayed here for the last few years. We have noticed the entire hotel has started to be neglected. A couple of examples, the elevator was all banged up. The ceiling in the shower was a drop ceiling that had some mold and buckling. This is an ocean front room. When you look out the side window, there is trash om the roof. We might reconsider for next year. Sorry
Teresa is QUEEN! She depicts quality customer service. She was always pleasant, went above and beyond with recommendations and guidance, and endured our stay was to our liking. She truly loves the work she does and it shows! We had a great stay at ICONA Windrift and will surely return as long as Teresa is there.
