The ambiance was pleasant and the service was very good, but my wife and I both had upset stomachs for a couple of days. Something in the food was off.
My husband took me here for my birthday and they made us wait about an hour for our table even though we had an OpenTable reservation. His steak was over cooked and tasteless. They brought me a desert with a message "Happy Anniversary". Did a mention was my birthday. Never again.
Unfortunately, our experience at J Prime this time around was a disappointment. In particular, the service was severely lacking for a restaurant of this caliber. It took more than 15 mins to receive the first cocktail. This was followed by multiple accounts of delays and mistakes including a steak that was over cooked and service that was unbearably slow. Unfortunately, this trip to J-Prime was not up to our past visits. The 12 oz filet was good, but not up to their 8 oz standards, Ceasar salad and wedge salad was bland with limited flavor. Bread rolls were the best. Service was exceptional. Also, I don't remember it being so loud as it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Maybe just an off night?
The salads were sub-par. They didn't have any flavor. The sautéed mushrooms were very bland and I was told by another member of our dinner that the vegetables were not good. The steaks were good but I would expect all aspects of the meal to be excellent for this type of restaurant.
They are over booking their restaurant with reservations and there were 5 tables waiting when I arrived on time for their earlier reservations.
Made a reservation but was seated 50 minutes later Food wasn't bad, server was attentive but if I could do it over again I would have walked out after 15 minutes past my reservation
They did not get the meat right. The quality of meat gor the price ($80 per steak) was bad
In search of a brunch for Father's Day, I thought I might give J-Prime a go (at the recommendation of my favorite waiter from Chama's). All these 5 Star ratings; lol... AYFKM? Skulking, angst-ridden, and unprofessional wait staff with poor hygiene (my waitress was okay.. I guess. IDK). Vacant eyed Hostess was dismissive, rude, goofy.
