My senior mother was taken there because her blood pressure was high. They kept her for 5 days and the treatment was horrific. They dont have a nurse alert button or any way for the patients to call the nurse staff without having to scream for a nurse. When they finally responded, they would say, "I will be there in a moment", but they would take another hour or more to actually come to see what the problem was. I was taking by paramedics that is the worst hospital. I have seen in my life. They need to be shut down.
Terrible experience. For starters the EMT telling me 147/95 is normal then less than 3 mins my BP was 90ish/50ish and that's normal. They sit me in the waiting area then the nurses were more concerned about lunch because a nurse came in with food and the other nurse picked up her pace because she was more worried about eating than caring for patients. Terrible!!! Unprofessional! A plasma donation center can do better than Jackson Park Hospital. They kept stabbing my wife’s arms with needles for the IV and it was hurting her but they continued anyways. I couldn’t even see her while this was happening. She was there because her stomach was hurting and she had constipation. They didn’t give her anything that would actually help her! No compassion!!!
They locked the emergency room doors. Wouldn't me leave to go home. They said they were forcing me to go back to a nursing home that I refused at 38 years old. They forced me to go back there and not let me go home.
