Dinner for 5 at Joey Rideau on Saturday May 31/25. We had a good time and a nice dinner with one weird thing - a lot of what we ordered was unavailable. We had to substitute our the appetizer for the table...no hummus available. 4 of us couldn't get the main we ordered...cod and mediterranean bowl not available...we were in disbelief because it just kept happening. Had to ask for candle to be lit, needed more time with and explanation of menu. Food good
Ordered the ahi tuna salad and got it served with an insect in it. Disgusting!!
Tip levels should start at 15%, not 18%. I don’t think there is an option to customize either but not sure. Food prep inconsistent. The burger and fries were great, the Mes bowl as not. ( overly spiced and rice was clumpy). service was very average.
Food and ambience were nice but service was awful. The hostess pointed out when I should go instead of walking me there. Our server didn’t say hello or welcome or introduce herself - she just showed up three or four times and said «are you ready to order» . They changed servers a few times so part of our order was missed and we had to ask twice before cancelling it because it was too late and the second server didn’t enter it in to the system either.
Our reservation was at 8:30. We were there at 8:20 and they had us wait until 8:50 before seating us. The hosts sat everyone before us even people who came in later. Then when our food came I ordered the classic steak and my steak was not hot. It was obvious that it was sitting on the table for a while before being served to me. Food was not as good as the price point at all $75 for a rib eye that was 1/2” thick garbage cut of beef. For the Sushi and steak the “steak” was real chewy. Basically this place is charging a price point for “steak” that is at least double what its worth. Prob a good place for a burger.
Seated in dining area and had the lights turned off mid meal, and did not turn on after asking. Was not told by the door hostess that this would happen, when being asked about sitting in dining area versus the bar.
We had a reservation at 6:30. We waited for 30 minutes and no one saw us. A lot of walk-ins came in after us and was sat at a table when we went up to the hostesses to ask what was going on they said apparently that they sat our table and somebody else took our reservation.We believe this was untrue as we watched each hostess go up to the different groups and call a different name that was not ours.
