My apartment was not ready on the move in date and I wasn’t notified until the night before. Very little help from the office, they suggested I find somewhere else to live until their affairs were in order. It was eventually resolved. I also had issues with building maintenance damaging personal belongings. Office was communicative, just a series of unfortunate events.
Steve in maintenance does a great job! He takes care of any repairs in a timely manner and always cleans up after himself. The painters did a great job of fixing a loose socket in my wall.
I loved living at John Jay, the neighborhood is unbeatable and the views are amazing if you're able to get an upper level apartment. Charles, the building manager, is very kind and helpful, and Lloyd, the maintenance attendant goes above and beyond. With it being rent controlled, there's not much better you can get in the area.
Amazing location and incredibly kind staff. Gabriel went above and beyond my expectations to help me sign a lease on short notice. Happy to call this place home!
Location is wonderful. Generally a quiet place, other than the very loud radiators in the winter. The windows are in terrible condition. We had mice and live on the 4th floor. Overall, it's just okay.
