In the Lanai food court at Ala Moana is Kamakura Ramen. This is equivalent to a mid level ramen shop in Japan. The ramen is better than cup o noodle. If you can not make a good ramen at home then try this place. If you can doctor up a ramen at home then stop here and eat at home. You can then send me the money you saved. The ramen is located inside the ala moana center second floor which there are plenty of different types of food around at the food court. There is another food court at the 1st floor too. The ramen is good but in general I don’t really think it worths to travel all the way here for it if you are not close by. They have an Oahu discount booklet which if you show the staff they will offer you 15% discount. That’s nice.
A solid ramenya inside the Lanai at the mall. This spot offers a variety of ramen options. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the bowls come in larger portions. I went with the half size spicy tan tan ramen with char siu which was perfect since I wasn’t too hungry. Otherwise the regular size would have been the way to go. We asked a Japanese friend and she recommended this one. It was great we enjoyed it. Perhaps the best ramen in Oahu we tried.
One of my new favorites as a local! Reasonably priced, finally some place I can enjoy some ramen for under $14. The food has nice portions as well as kamaina and happy hour specials. Definitely will be back!
