Dr Kohout has done an excellent job caring for my Father with Parkinsons which comes with professional coaching in managing the slow progressing disease over a long period of time. I sat in on Dad's checkup yesterday and was extremely impressed with the time Dr Kohout took and the words he chose that connected with my Dad. An absolute professional and expert in his area that considers the whole person in his care.
ExcellentBeyond reproach He came highly recommended by the physician he trained under at the University of Iowa. He Exceeded all expectations! Treats both my mother and I for Parkinson’s disease. I would not hesitate to recommend him for his thorough knowledge, empathetic approach, wonderful listening skills, full knowledge of the patient’s situation before entering the exam room.
Dr. Kohout is a wonderful neurologist. He is so caring and is willing to spend time with you to discuss any concerns you have with your neurological health. He is patient and very thorough during his exams. His nurse is so kind too. I would recommend him!
I accompanied a friend (I count as family member) to this visit, and Dr. Kohout listened attentively and asked questions for at least 40 minutes while the friend explained the complicated circumstances. He was empathetic and gave clear directions toward a better medical care path. In 60 years, I've never seen a doctor handle such a situation so well.
Upon meeting Dr. Kohout, he was wonderful with my stepFather. He was genuinely concerned, treated Dad like a human-not a number, took extra time to discuss Dad's whole body-not just the isolated reason for his purpose-as we were still needing more direction, great bedside manners and still very professional.
Dr. Kahout labeled my movements as appearing to be voluntary in my chart without investigating a cause. While he may not have been able to detect epileptic activity on my EEG, they were absolutely not voluntary. Without being able to identify a cause or treatment, I experienced a year and a half of extremely debilitating symptoms. I have since discovered my seizure like episodes are preceeded by frequent episodes of hypoglycemia with a blood glucose below 55 mg dL. Although I have not fully recovered, I have found some relie... read more
Poor bedside manor. Doctor was rude and fat phobic. Doctor was apathetic and had little knowledge of the disorder. Doctor spent the whole visit telling me to do sit ups when in fact it is not recommended with this disorder. Doctor stated that to me that this disorder was absolutely caused by obesity. When I wanted to talk more about my symptoms he said he had to get to the next patient. I will be cancelling my next appointment and finding a new doctor.
