I have been a customer since 2023 and have no problems with Lakes Gas the service is wonderful and all I have to do is call and talk to someone about getting fuel and usually in 2 to 3 days it is here. I wait for the bill and I pay it in payments over the phone. They are not pushy when it comes to contracts. I just pay when I can, and if I forget they call or send me an E-Mail. I love them so much. Wouldn't go anywhere else for my fuel. Very nice company. I'm proud to be their customer.
I'm giving Lakes Gas one-star because on Saturday, February 28, the heat was off in our home in Merrimac, WI and the stove had a strong natural gas smell. We were very concerned the pipes were going to freeze. I called Lakes Gas (Baraboo) multiple times on Saturday and left three voicemails. I left a voicemail on their main voicemail box (when you press 1 to leave a message) and I left two voicemails on their emergency line (when you press 2 to leave a message). Lakes Gas does a great job with communication and delivery. Always on time with our monitored tank. Timely (3 days) when asked for a fill up early. Payment system online has been very easy and accurate every time for us so far.
Poor communication. I called Monday morning at 8am to schedule a gas delivery for the next day (Tuesday) for an additional $100 “next day” charge. I never received gas on Tuesday, or a phone call update saying that I wouldn’t be receiving the gas. They were quick to charge me the $600+ on Monday as soon as we got off the phone tho. !DON'T USE THEIR SITE TO MAKE PAYMENTS! It can take two weeks for them to bother to refund you for glitches on their site causing them to withdraw multiple payments. This is by choice (i.e. "we only do that on Thursdays"). If there is anything causing them to not do their weekly Thursday payment adjustments, you are SoL till the next Thursday + however many business days it takes to get through to your account. They don't care about customer urgency like their account going negative+bank fees/needing to feed your children. ... read more
